What are we ?
Online Education is an Educational Program sponsored
under the auspices of The Dove Center, Inc., a faith-based Counseling,
Consulting, Coaching and Program Development organization. Our Goal is to
use high quality, affordable, multi-media technologies which can deliver
educational resources that empowers individuals, families and organizations to
realize their full-God Given Potential.
What we believe
Our philosophical base is Judeo-Christian and by
that we mean that we accept that there is an Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent
God. Also, it is our view that the Old Testament and New Testament
are fundamentally reliable as a spiritual revelation from God
and that these provide the conceptual basis upon which one can
develop a personal relationship with God through the Messiah. We do not
condemn other faith systems, (except in cases where beliefs precipitate harm
or "illness" to humanity) and do not believe in
denominations or labels. Our World View is based upon the belief that the historical Jesus of Nazareth was the completion of the
covenant made with Abraham and through Whom the path to spiritual purity and
heavenly immortality was exposed to all humanity.
Our Instructors approach all they teach from
the following tenets:
 | Respect for the Opinions and beliefs of all persons |
 | A carefully reasoned acceptance of Judeo-Christian values and teachings |
 | A belief in Absolute Truths (i.e. the law of gravity or laws of moral
conduct) |
 | The right of all persons to express their beliefs without fear of
humiliation |
 | That persons of faith should have legitimate reasons for their beliefs |
 | We believe that "faith" should not mean "blind trusting adherence"
to a belief |
 | That any belief system that precipitates harm to humanity is abhorrent |
What if I'm not Religious
You Can Relax! Our teachers don't push religion. We believe that faith
must be entered into by divine invitation, revelation and personal reflection
only; otherwise it is useless.
We do, as a matter of policy, look for instructors who have a
well-rounded, balanced world-view which includes a faith component. This
is because of the statistically proven mental/physical health benefits of a
faith-based belief system. In short, we believe that faith-based instructors
have a broader and more cohesive foundation upon which they can draw when they
are engaging others in the Team Learning Approaches that our classes
employ. Because most of our instructors are people of faith, you may
occasionally hear phrases like "with God's help" or "thank
God," but all class content is pragmatic, goal-oriented and
subject-specific.
