Code of Ethics
It is the policy of every person associated with The Dove Center to
exhibit the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct as
indicated in the following code for ethical behavior.
I.

Our Primary obligation is to promote the welfare of our clients and to
respect their rights and integrity.

The counseling relationship and all resulting information must be kept
confidential.
III.

When the client's condition indicates that there is clear and imminent
danger to the client or others, we must take reasonable and responsible
action or inform responsible parties.
IV.

Records of the service relationship, including interview notes, test
data, correspondence, tape recordings, and any other documents are to be
considered professional information. Revelation to others outside
of our organization must only occur upon the expressed written consent
of the client(s)

Therapist must gather data on their own effectiveness and be guided by
their findings, while protecting the identity of the client and should
be open to input from client, and relevant peers.

The Therapist must inform clients of the purposes, goals, techniques,
rules of procedure and limitations that may affect the service
relationship at or before treatment is begun.

If the Therapist is unable to be of professional assistance to the
client, the counseling relationship should be terminated through
referral to another competent service party.

No sexual contact of any type shall be deemed acceptable behavior
between Therapist and client.
